• Q: What happens to your body?

  • A: The signs and symptoms of lactose intolerance usually begin from 30 minutes to two hours after eating or drinking food containing lactose.

  • A: Many people with lactose intolerance can consume yoghurt but not milk.

• Q: What helps with symptoms?

  • A: If you’re having mild symptoms from eating something that contains milk, taking an antihistamine medication may lessen your discomfort.

  • A: There’s no cure for lactose intolerance, but most people can control their symptoms by changing their diet.
