Rosacea is a skin condition that usually affects parts of your face such as the nose, cheeks or forehead. It may look similar to acne but they are different conditions which have different causes. The exact cause of Rosacea is unknown but it may be caused by an inflammation of the skin. Many cases of rosacea are mild.


Symptoms

Symptoms may vary form person to person and not all symptoms present in all cases of rosacea. The common symptoms associated include:

  • Frequent flushing of the face
  • Redness of part of the face which looks similar to sunburn
  • Small red spots on the face that look similar to acne
  • Tiny blood vessels present on the face
  • Burning, stinging or  itchy eyes


Treatment

There is no permanent cure for rosacea, however some measures or medications can be used to control symptoms of it. 

Self care measures:

  • avoid strong exposure to sunlight
  • using a non-perfumed, basic moisturiser 
  • avoid potential triggers such as extreme temperatures, alcoholic drinks, stressful situations or spicy food

Mirvaso gel can be used with other treatments for rosacea.

Your doctor or skin specialist will be able to provide you advice on treatments.
