Female facial hair

Eligible women affected by unwanted female facial hair can buy prescription medicine Vaniqa online from Medicinesbymailbox Pharmacy.

Medical information

Excessive growth of dark and thick facial hair, a condition called hirsutism, can be caused by various reasons such as hormone disorders. It can also be caused by side effects of some drugs such as glucocorticoids, sodium valproate (for seizures) and having hormone treatment such as androgenic progestogens. It may also run in families.

Hirsutism occurs because your body might produce more androgenic hormones, such as a male sex hormone called testosterone, causing hair growth in areas that are usually absent in women, eg. chest and face.

The most common symptom associated with hirsutism is having excess hair growth in a masculine pattern, at places like:

  • face (particularly the moustache, beard and temple areas)
  • chest
  • upper and lower back
  • buttocks
  • inner thighs
  • external sex organs

There may be another signs associated with hirsutism due to excessive production of male sex hormones, such as acne, male-pattern obesity, deepening of voice and infertility.

Excessive facial hair growth can be treated by a prescription medicine called Vaniqa. You can visit the page for specific medicine information.
