Salamol Easi-Breathe product information

Salamol Easi-Breathe is a brand of blue inhaler (reliever) used for relief of asthma. It contains an active ingredient called salbutamol. Upon inhalation, it helps to widen your airways and relieve chest tightness caused by asthma.

How to use

1 or 2 puffs are usually sufficient for the relief of asthma during an attack. The onset of action is almost immediate.

Salamol Easi-breathe is a breath actuated inhaler. It is particularly useful for patients who have difficulty using standard inhalers. Some people find the co-ordination of using regular inhaler difficult and benefit from the automatic triggering from a 'breath actuated' inhaler.

There are specific instructions regarding this inhaler on the patient information leaflet and you should read it before using Ventolin inhaler to ensure that you have good inhaler technique.

Inhaled salbutamol is an 'as required' treatment and is used only when symptoms are present. If you need to use your salbutamol inhaler very regularly, it may mean that your asthma is not well controlled and you are advised to see your GP as soon as possible.

Salamol Easi-breathe side-effects

Like all medicines, Salamol can cause some side effects, although not everyone gets them.

The most common side effects associated are feeling shaky and headache. These side effects are usually mild and will soon pass. However, if it troubles you, you should speak to a doctor or pharmacist for advice.

If you experience these uncommon but serious side effects, you should stop using Salamol Easi-Breathe and seek urgent medical advice:

  • Symptoms of sever allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, swelling of eyes, face or lips, itchy rash or fainting
  • Chest pain or fast heart beat
  • Worsening breathlessness and wheezing

A full list of side effects and cautions can be found in the patient information leaflet supplied with the inhaler.
