Rapitil product information

Rapitil eye drops contains an anti-allergic ingredient called nedocromil sodium. It helps to reduce eye inflammations during hay fever and to relieve allergic symptoms such as redness, soreness and itching in the eyes.

How to take

The usual dose for hay fever is 1 drop into each eye, twice daily, up to maximum 4 times daily. For specific directions on administration, refer to the patient information leaflet.
You should not use it for more than 12 weeks.

You should also wear glasses instead of soft contact lenses while on this medicine. If you wear other types of contact lenses, wait at least 15 minutes after administration before putting them back in.

Side effects of Rapitil

Like all medicines, Rapitil might cause some side effects, although not everyone gets them.

The most common side effects associated are irritation of the eyes and blurred vision. Side effects are usually mild but if you are concerned, speak to a doctor or pharmacist. It is important that if you have temporary blurred vision that you avoid driving or operating machinery until your vision returns to normal.

If you experience severe allergic reaction with symptoms such as difficulty breathing, swelling of eyes, lips or face, or an itchy rash, you should stop using Rapitil eye drops immediately and seek urgent medical advice.

For a full list of side effects, please refer to the patient information leaflet attached below.
